Mr. Sourav Sethia Business Intelligence | Data Engineering | Artificial Intelligence | IEEE Senior Member An Exclusive Conversation with Jasmine Francis, Editor-in-Chief of CIOTODAY, Unveiling the Remarkable Journey of Mr. Sourav Sethia Mr. Sourav Sethia for being awarded “Business Intelligence & Data Analytics Leader of The Year – Information Technology“  Published on :- 10 Feb 2025 Awarded by Bizox Media Network as a Global Technology Leaders Awards 2025  Kindly brief us about the outset of your career. The outset of my professional journey began with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), where I served as an Analyst from October 2013 to March 2016. This role was instrumental in building a strong foundation in Quality Analysis, data analytics, business intelligence, and process automation. At TCS, I had the privilege of working with global companies such as Allianz Life and Shoppers Drug Mart, contributing to high-impact projects that enhanced my analytical thinking, technical expertise, and collaborative skills. The diverse range of assignments I handled at TCS helped me develop a deep understanding of data-driven problem-solving and prepared me to take on more complex roles in the future. Eager to gain a holistic understanding of business operations, I transitioned to working with start-ups, where I could be involved in the end-to-end processes of an IT Product. One of the most notable experiences was at Netomi, where I was exposed to Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence. I played a key role in developing high-accuracy chatbot solutions for various Fortune 500 clients. Additionally, I gained hands-on experience in sentiment analysis using machine learning algorithms and NLP techniques, which further solidified my expertise in AI-driven solutions. During my time at Netomi, I collaborated closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, developers, and client stakeholders, to ensure the successful delivery of innovative solutions. This exposure gave me a comprehensive understanding of startup dynamics and sharpened my ability to adapt to rapidly changing business needs. In pursuit of further technical and managerial growth, I earned a Master’s degree in Business Analytics and Project Management (BAPM) from the University of Connecticut School of Business, graduating with a GPA of 3.8/4.0. This program deepened my knowledge in predictive modelling, digital analytics, and project risk management, enhancing my ability to lead and execute data-driven projects. The rigorous curriculum, combined with practical assignments, equipped me with advanced analytical and leadership skills that I continue to leverage in my professional roles. After graduating, I joined Cisco in early 2021 as a Business Data Analyst, where my primary objective was to gather and analyse data from multiple sources while delivering actionable insights through Tableau and Power BI. A significant contribution during my tenure was the development of an ETL process using SQL and SSIS to manage telemetry data, which drastically reduced analysis time and improved operational efficiency. I also created Tableau dashboards for product management teams, offering a comprehensive view of security product adoption. This role helped me further refine my expertise in data visualization, ETL processes, stakeholder collaboration, and business communication. Additionally, I took the initiative to automate several reporting workflows, which saved considerable time and enhanced the accuracy of deliverables. Following my tenure at Cisco, I was fortunate to join my dream company, Amazon, where I currently serve as a Business Intelligence Engineer II in the Last Mile Delivery space. My role at Amazon has provided me with the opportunity to work on high-impact projects at a global scale, directly influencing global operational performance and end customers. The fast-paced environment at Amazon has allowed me to sharpen my ability to manage large datasets, develop scalable solutions, and deliver actionable insights that drive business outcomes. At Amazon, I spearheaded the implementation of Service Level Standards (SLS) for delivery partners globally, which has significantly improved supply chain operations and reduced delivery costs. Additionally, I played a key role in developing fraud detection and mitigation systems that utilize advanced SQL queries and AWS technologies. I also led the design and deployment of an end-to-end ETL pipeline using AWS Glue and Lambda to monitor delivery partner performance and key service metrics. This initiative improved customer satisfaction significantly and optimized service quality by ensuring consistent monitoring and enforcement of performance standards. I also worked in the payments marketing analytics role where I collaborated with the global payments team to drive significant cost-saving initiatives. By leveraging advanced data analytics, I identified high-cost payment channels across different regions and partnered with global payment providers to negotiate more favourable rates. I worked closely with cross-functional teams to implement efficient payment routing strategies, ensuring lower processing costs without compromising transaction success rates. Additionally, I analysed global customer payment behaviour and developed targeted campaigns that encouraged the adoption of cost-effective payment methods. My insights directly contributed to reducing transaction fees and optimizing payment acceptance rates. I also played a critical role in enhancing fraud detection mechanisms across multiple markets, minimizing the financial impact of chargebacks and fraud. Moreover, I actively collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Directors, Data Scientists, Program Managers, and Operations Leaders, to provide real-time analytics solutions and drive strategic decision-making. My role extends beyond technical contributions, as I consistently engage with senior leadership to present data-driven insights that influence key business decisions and enhance last-mile delivery operations. I also mentor junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing within the team. Currently, to further enhance my managerial capabilities and advance my professional career, I am pursuing an Executive MBA, with a focus on strategic leadership, financial management, and operations. This program is equipping me with advanced business acumen and decision-making skills, which are directly relevant to my role in driving large-scale initiatives and collaborating with senior leadership at Amazon. The blend of theoretical knowledge and practical case studies has broadened my perspective on handling complex business challenges and leading cross-functional teams effectively. Alongside my professional journey, I am also actively dedicated to social work. As part of my involvement with My Home India, I have successfully assisted numerous students and professionals in navigating challenges related to finding colleges, accommodations, jobs,

As the Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of Americas Regional Marketing at Intel Corporation, Carolyn has not only established herself as a force to be reckoned with but has also become an inspirational leader in the tech industry. Yet, her journey to this position was not without its own set of challenges. Throughout her career, Carolyn encountered numerous obstacles and setbacks, each serving as an opportunity for growth and learning. It is her unwavering determination and remarkable ability to navigate through failures that have positioned her as an outstanding figure in the industry. Her dynamic presence and thought leadership have made her a sought-after speaker at various industry events and conferences. Carolyn’s unique perspective and exceptional ability to connect with others make her an influential and inspiring leader. She understands that success is not solely defined by achievements but also by the ability to empathize with those who are facing their own struggles. Her Inception Story Despite facing numerous obstacles and societal norms, Carolyn’s journey serves as a testament to the power of resilience and the pursuit of one’s true passion. Growing up, Carolyn navigated a time when intelligence was not always celebrated, particularly for girls and women. In a world that often discouraged their participation in math, science, and technology, she found herself “socialized out” of these arenas at an early age. Yet, it was this very adversity that fueled her relentless drive to prove others wrong. Hailing from an Italian immigrant background and raised just outside of Boston, Massachusetts, Carolyn possessed a unique determination to overcome the barriers set before her. Unfazed by the messages of “you can’t do that,” she channeled her innate curiosity toward computers, recognizing that understanding technology was not rocket science. In fact, she went beyond mere understanding, using and exploring the possibilities of computers, which ultimately led her to a serendipitous role—teaching mature ladies in her neighborhood how to utilize their PCs. It was during her time working at a venture capital office that Carolyn’s perspective widened even further. Observing that the majority of business pitches were dominated by men, she couldn’t help but wonder, “Where are all the women?” Intrigued by the burgeoning momentum in the tech industry, Carolyn saw an opportunity to make her mark. Armed with a Bachelor of Arts in English and Spanish from Connecticut College, Carolyn recognized the power of effective communication. Combining this with her newfound fascination with technology, she embarked on a path in technical writing—a bridge between her love for writing and her growing passion for the tech world. This was her entry point into an industry that would come to define her career. Carolyn’s journey, however, was not characterized by complacency. Despite her late entry into the tech realm, she embraced a mindset of perpetual growth and learning. Recognizing that expertise is never truly achieved, she sought to sharpen her skills through continuous education. From digital marketing to leadership training programs, she remained dedicated to honing her craft and staying at the forefront of industry trends. In 2013, Carolyn’s trajectory took an unexpected turn when she discovered her profound passion for sales and marketing. Invited to deliver technical demonstrations worldwide, she found herself invigorated by engaging with customers and solving real-world challenges. Her exceptional storytelling abilities and effective communication skills allowed her to create meaningful connections and communicate the value of products and services. Years of deep technical work gave her the credibility to hold her ground in conversations with engineers and industry experts, further enhancing her marketing prowess. Embracing her newfound calling, Carolyn joined BMC Software in 2016, where she spearheaded efforts to revitalize the Mainframe brand and propel market share growth in a declining industry. This experience served as a stepping stone to her next chapter at Intel. As Senior Director of Strategic Marketing of Data Center Solutions, she continued to make her mark, eventually ascending to roles at Intel headquarters, reporting directly to the Chief Marketing Officer. Today, Carolyn proudly serves as the Vice President and GM of Americas Regional Marketing at Intel, leading a team of skilled marketers across diverse segments. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Carolyn’s impact extends far beyond her immediate sphere of influence. With an unwavering dedication to fostering the growth and development of women and young professionals in the fields of Marketing and Tech, she actively guides and empowers others to pursue their aspirations. Furthermore, she champions the importance of creating access and opportunities for underrepresented individuals in STEM fields, recognizing the transformative potential of diverse perspectives and voices. In both her professional and personal life, Carolyn Henry embodies the essence of her favorite marketing motto from “Mad Men,” which aptly states, “If you don’t like what they’re saying, change the conversation.” It encapsulates her unwavering commitment to challenge norms, drive innovation, and reshape narratives in the tech industry. Additionally, she draws inspiration from Walt Whitman’s timeless mantra, “Keep your face toward the sunshine, and shadows will fall behind you,” underscoring her optimistic and forward-looking approach to life. Surmounting the Obstacles In the ever-evolving marketing world, Carolyn Henry, like many CMOs, has faced significant challenges that require strategic thinking and innovative solutions. First and foremost, the pressure of balancing short-term thinking with long-term strategy is a constant challenge. Carolyn recognizes the importance of delivering immediate results while also charting a course for sustainable success. It requires a delicate balance of
