Loyal Christman
CEO & Co-Founder, BioFunctional Health Solutions
The regenerative healthcare industry focuses on restoring and enhancing the body’s natural ability to heal itself. Unlike traditional healthcare, which often relies on medications or surgeries to manage symptoms, regenerative medicine uses therapies that aim to repair damaged tissues, reduce inflammation, and improve overall function. This includes treatments like light therapy, shockwave therapy, molecular hydrogen inhalation, and electromagnetic stimulation. These solutions are often personalized and data-driven, providing targeted care based on each individual’s condition. The industry is growing quickly as people and employers look for more effective, less invasive ways to prevent chronic conditions and improve quality of life. By combining science, innovation, and a focus on long-term health, regenerative healthcare offers a promising future for modern wellness. In a U.S. healthcare system full of reactive treatments, rising costs, and insurance roadblocks, Loyal Christman is taking a bold new approach. As CEO and Co-Founder of BioFunctional Health Solutions (BHS), he is creating an innovative model focused on outcomes, not just coverage. Loyal is building a future where precision, prevention, and personalized care define health helping individuals and employers achieve real, measurable wellness through globally trusted regenerative therapies.
From the Battlefield to the Boardroom
Loyal Christman’s journey into healthcare innovation began in a place of discipline and service in the U.S. Air Force Academy. There, he graduated as a Distinguished Graduate and an elite athlete, setting the stage for a promising career. He served in the U.S. military for 14 years, including two combat tours. During his time in service, he took on the role of Medical Service Corps officer and eventually became the youngest Chief Information Officer (CIO) in the Air Force’s medical system. These years shaped not only his leadership skills but also his understanding of healthcare under pressure.
After his military service, Loyal continued to build his knowledge and leadership capacity by earning a Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He didn’t just pass, he graduated as valedictorian and was honored with Delta Omega and Alpha Epsilon Lambda distinctions. He is also currently attending Harvard Medical School’s Lifestyle Medicine program. With both military and academic excellence in his background, Loyal moved into corporate healthcare leadership, ready to make a difference.
However, his turning point came from personal adversity. Despite access to top-tier healthcare, Loyal found himself struggling with chronic pain, brain fog, and burnout. None of the traditional treatments brought relief. What finally worked was a simple, hands-on therapy that restored his mobility and sparked a life-changing realization. If something so effective existed, why wasn’t it widely available? That single question inspired a mission and led to the founding of BioFunctional Health Solutions.
A New Kind of Healthcare Company
In 2018, Loyal co-founded BioFunctional Health Solutions with a mission to bring effective, proven regenerative therapies to more people, especially in the workplace. He knew the healthcare system needed change, and he envisioned a model that was outcomes-focused rather than driven by insurance codes and red tape. BHS wasn’t created to be just another vendor; it was built to be a clinical innovation engine focused on measurable impact.
Under Loyal’s leadership, BHS has grown into a trusted healthcare provider for some of the most respected companies in the country, including USAA, Eaton Corporation, and Signify. These employers rely on BHS to care for their most important resource: their people. And the numbers prove the model works. BHS has served over 181,000 employees nationwide, helped avoid more than 11,000 surgeries, and saved over $250 million in medical and workers’ compensation costs. By offering onsite, virtual, and in-clinic models tailored to each employer’s needs, BHS has become a flexible and powerful solution in workplace health.
But the true difference lies in BHS’s focus. Rather than offering health “benefits,” the company delivers predictable, measurable outcomes. Every therapy and service is backed by research, structured by protocols, and tracked for success. Loyal’s philosophy has never wavered; real healing must be precise, personal, and proactive.
Redefining Regenerative Care
BHS has become a leader in regenerative medicine, not just by using globally accepted therapies, but by setting new standards for how they’re delivered. Under Loyal’s direction, BHS has developed the industry’s most advanced protocols for regenerative treatments. The company is even pursuing a patent for the world’s first photobiomodulation dosing calculator. This tool allows exact control over treatment factors such as frequency, irradiance, pulsing, and wavelength, including 1060 nm far infrared, a level of accuracy no other commercial device can claim with verified consistency.
The therapies offered and enhanced by BHS include photobiomodulation (light therapy using red, near, and far infrared light), delivered through spectrometer-verified devices to ensure correct dosage and safety. BHS also provides molecular hydrogen inhalation therapy, known for its anti-inflammatory, neuroprotective, and cellular health benefits. Another standout therapy is HIFEN, or High-Intensity Focused Electromagnetic Muscle Stimulation, which supports pelvic floor health, muscle recovery, and physical performance.
Additional innovations include BioPulseWave™ ESWT, a shockwave therapy used for reducing pain, restoring mobility, and encouraging tissue regeneration. BHS also applies AI-driven brain optimization to help patients with conditions linked to inflammation, such as brain fog, long COVID, depression, and hormonal imbalances. These therapies are not just added services they are part of a system designed for results, based on scientific validation and Loyal’s commitment to making them safer and more precise. Even mobility tools like the 3D Mobility Health Assessment are used strategically. Rather than relying on flashy devices for marketing, BHS integrates these tools with protocols to detect dysfunction and guide early interventions. This approach is part of Loyal’s bigger vision: build a system that truly works, by understanding how and why each therapy helps.
A Culture Built on Empathy and Purpose
While technology and innovation drive BHS’s clinical success, Loyal believes it’s the human element that truly matters. His leadership style is grounded in empathy, humility, and service. He has built a company culture where every team member, especially nurses, is not only highly trained in technique but also deeply connected to the company’s mission. Patients aren’t treated like numbers or claims; they’re seen as unique biological individuals deserving of care that fits their needs.
Loyal often emphasizes that true success isn’t measured by money or metrics alone; it’s about the legacy left in people’s lives. For him, leadership means nurturing those around you and ensuring that every part of the organization lives with purpose. “Legacy is only secured in people who are nurtured by an empathetic leader. All other success is meaningless and temporary,” he says. This belief has helped BHS grow not just in reach, but in heart. It’s a company where care starts from the top and flows through every action, every protocol, and every interaction with patients.
Bringing the Future Closer
As BHS expands its reach, including direct-to-consumer programs like T180X and clinical training partnerships across the country, Loyal remains focused on one thing: building the future of healthcare. While many still focus on treating problems after they appear, Loyal believes that the best care starts earlier with prevention, personalization, and precision. His goal is to bring cutting-edge health solutions to everyone who needs them, not just the privileged few.
“The best of health isn’t behind us, it’s ahead. And we are going to bring it to every person who needs it,” he says. From his early days in combat zones to today’s boardrooms and clinics, Loyal Christman has carried the same values: service, excellence, and purpose. As he continues to lead BHS into a new era of regenerative healthcare, he stands as a powerful example of what’s possible when leadership, innovation, and empathy come together. Loyal is not only changing the healthcare experience he’s engineering a better future for it.
